  • ๐Ÿ“ Day 11 of my #fastingdiary is here! ๐Ÿ™Œ I broke my fast this morning with a bit of aloe vera juice and digestion kombucha shot before enjoying two poached eggs and a tiny bit of bacon ๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿณ Lost a total of 7 kilos over the 10 days, which is 15.4 pounds ๐ŸŽ‰ Check out the images for the rest of my stats! I'm so happy with the results! ๐Ÿค— I'll be re-feeding slowly to warm up my digestion and prevent rebound gain. Had a small dinner of two chicken skewers and some cheese ๐Ÿ—๐Ÿง€ For the day, I had around 500 calories mostly protein. I gotta admit, this week has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. On one hand, I've had plenty of energy, my waistline is shrinking, and my vision has miraculously improved. On the other hand, I've been dreaming of pepperoni pizza with extra cheese and my social media feeds are making me drool with all their Easter treats. Come on, people, have some consideration for a fasting gal! ๐Ÿ˜‚
But all jokes aside, I'm feeling pretty good. I'm on Day 7 of my fasting diary, and tomorrow morning marks the official end of my first week. It hasn't always been easy, but I'm starting to see the benefits, and that's keeping me motivated.
I started a parasite cleanse this week, which has been... an interesting experience, to say the least. Let's just say, I've seen things that cannot be unseen. ๐Ÿ˜ณ But hey, if it helps clear out any unwanted visitors in my gut, I'm all for it.
Overall, I'm feeling optimistic about this fasting journey. I'm learning a lot about my body and what it's capable of. And hey, if I can survive without pizza for a week, I can survive anything, right? ๐Ÿ’ช

  • Welcome back to Day 6 of my Fasting Diary! I'm still going strong, folks. Today, I decided to take things to the next level and get a colonic. It's been over 20 years since my last one, and I figured it was time to clear out any toxins and such that might be hanging around. ๐Ÿ’ฉ
I'm happy to report that the colonic therapist said I can tell everyone I'm not full of shit. However, she did find some trapped wind and a few parasites (ewww). It looks like my liver is also under some stress, which I'm putting down to the fasting. She suggested a parasite cleanse, which I think I'm going to try, considering she saw the critters going down the tube. Gross, I know. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
Other than that, I'm feeling a bit tired today, especially after the colonic. Tomorrow will be Day 7, and unless something weird happens, I think I'm going to try to go for 10 days. I have my reasons for this, but I'll share them with you tomorrow.

  • Welcome to Day 5 of my Fasting Diary! It's been a bit of a rollercoaster today, folks. It all started when I was making my daughter's lunch and suddenly got hit with a wave of nausea. It felt like a hypoglycemic episode, but when I checked my blood sugar, it was totally normal. I ran to the bathroom, unsure of which end was going to be the victim of my nausea. Let's just say, after things came out the other end, I felt instantly better. ๐Ÿ’ฉ
After that eventful start to the day, things were uneventful for the rest of the day. I had a few waves of a rumbling tummy, but nothing too serious. I'm still sticking to my one cup of coffee a day to keep away the oxalate dumping, and taking my salts and minerals to keep things balanced.
I even managed to hit the gym today and do a light full body resistance training session. It felt good to get moving and break a sweat. ๐Ÿ’ช

  • Welcome back to Day 4 of my Fasting Diary! Today was a good day, folks. The hunger pains are finally gone, and I have plenty of energy to spare. It seems that drinking one cup of coffee a day is doing wonders in keeping the oxalate dumping pain away. Who knew coffee could be so magical? โ˜•
I also learned that fasting for 72 hours has some pretty amazing benefits. For starters, it can reset your immune system and reduce inflammation in the body. It also promotes autophagy, which is like a spring cleaning for your cells. Plus, it can increase insulin sensitivity and help regulate blood sugar levels.
Unfortunately, I didn't get any exercise in today, as I had my chiropractor appointment. But hey, self-care is important too, right? Plus, it's always nice to have someone crack your back and make you feel like a brand new person. ๐Ÿ˜Œ
Overall, Day 4 was a success. No pain, plenty of energy, a little bit of pampering, and some newfound knowledge on the benefits of fasting for 72 hours.   • Oh boy, Day 3  was a real doozy! ๐Ÿคช Not only did I battle with hunger pangs, but I also had to endure a blood test to check for 26 markers of metabolic health through Bio Health. Let's just say, trying to milk my finger of 2.5 ml of blood was a hilarious process. ๐Ÿฉธ๐Ÿ’‰
I'm pretty sure there was more blood on the counter than I got in the vial, but hey, at least I got it done. Now, I'm eagerly waiting for the results of that and then to see in 6 weeks how fasting affects these numbers. ๐Ÿคž
On top of all that, I did a gym workout today, mainly focusing on upper body resistance training. My muscles were fatigued, but that might have more to do with the fact that it's been over 10 days since my last gym sesh due to my cold and my son getting sick with gastro. ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ
And let's not forget the never-ending grumbles from my hungry tummy. Seriously, when will that ghrelin monster be tamed? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

  • Day 2 of my 30-day fasting challenge is in the books! Iโ€™ve had some gnarly hunger pangs throughout the day, but nothing that a little determination and some electrolytes couldnโ€™t handle. Shoutout to LMNT for keeping me from falling over.
Iโ€™ve also been chugging liquid minerals and magnesium like thereโ€™s no tomorrow. My eyelid was starting to twitch like it was doing the Macarena, but the minerals seem to have nipped that in the bud. Who knew that fasting could turn you into a walking, talking science experiment?
Last night was a bit rough, but I blame that on a bunch of teenagers who decided that 1 am was the perfect time to start a drum circle. Who needs sleep, anyway?
Iโ€™ve been feeling a bit chilly at times, but Iโ€™m told thatโ€™s just another fun side effect of fasting. Apparently, after about 18 hours of not eating, your body starts breaking down all sorts of things to use as fuel, including stored fat. Itโ€™s like a game of Jenga, but with molecules.
Speaking of fat, since Iโ€™ve been eating keto, I was already in a state of ketosis before starting the fast. But now that Iโ€™m two days in, I can tell Iโ€™m in an even deeper state of ketosis. Itโ€™s like Iโ€™m a fat-burning machine, and my body is loving it.
Thereโ€™s also some evidence that this stage of fasting can trigger a process called autophagy, which is basically like KonMari-ing your body. Itโ€™s like the ultimate spring cleaning, but instead of donating your old clothes to Goodwill, your body is breaking down damaged cells and replacing them with shiny, new ones. Itโ€™s like a DIY spa day, but for your insides.

So, my day started off with a delicious eggscapade - scrambled eggs and bacon ๐Ÿณ๐Ÿฅ“, accompanied by my long black โ˜• (yeah, I know, I already broke the "no food" rule ๐Ÿ™Š). But hey, I was already on an egg fast for the last few days and needed to fuel up! So officially, my fast started at 10:30 am. ๐Ÿ
Aunt Flo also decided to pay a visit today! ๐Ÿ™„ Like, great timing, right? But hey, life goes on. ๐Ÿ˜‚Apparently fasting during your cycle is ideal timing - guess weโ€™ll find out!
