Fat Bomb Smoothie to the Rescue
This mocha fat bomb smoothie has been a life saver!
One of the biggest issues I’ve had while adapting to a high fat keto carnivore eating style has been eating enough fat and enough calories. I struggle at this stage with eating a lot of animal fat as quite frankly it kind of grosses me out – so that’s a work in progress.
I’m lucky that dairy isn’t an issue for me so adding this cream based smoothie has been a game changer for me. I’ve finally been able to hit those higher macros with this added into my eating plan.
To make it a more carnivore friendly smoothie:
You can leave out the cacao/cocoa and it will just be a coffee smoothie.
You can leave out the sweetener – as your taste buds adapt to having no sugar you may find the cream is enough sweetness. I tend to only add the sweetener if I add the cacao.
You can leave out the MCT powder – I was originally making it without the MCT powder but found adding that in gave it a better consistency. The collagen is optional as well but also helps with consistency – plus it’s good for you.
You could try swapping out the MCT oil with an animal based fat (I haven’t tried this but it could work perhaps with melted ghee).
To make it dairy free:
Swap out the cream for coconut cream.

This delicious keto friendly fat bomb smoothie is perfect when you need to boost your fat intake for the day and want a filling drink you can take with you when you are on the run.
- I tablespoon Collagen Powder
- 1 tsp cacao
- 30 ml (1 ounce) espresso shot
- 2 tablespoons MCT oil
- 2 teaspoons monk fruit sweetener (optional)
- 1 scoop MCT powder (this is optional but I find it has a better consistency with the powder added)
- 1 cup ice (you can put more or less depending on your personal preference)
- 1/2 cup pure pouring cream
- 1/4 cup water
Place all ingredients into a high speed blender
Blend until smooth
Pour into your favorite cup and enjoy
